Ani Umoh
Project Manager
Aboveground Renovation & Construction Corp was born from a deep passion for building—building structures, building trust, and building lasting value in Canada. Ani Umoh serves as the Project Manager of Aboveground Renovation & Construction Corp, bringing technical excellence, real-world project experience, and an unwavering commitment to doing things right.
Ani completed his Master's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia, one of Canada's most respected engineering institutions. His career began hands-on, working on tenant improvement and renovation projects under $2 million, where he developed a strong technical foundation as a Field Technician (highly hands-on and experienced on site) before progressing into Junior Estimator and Project Manager roles, specializing in renovation, flooring, and wall systems.
Depth of Experience, Built from the Ground Up
Ani's professional journey reflects a rare, full-spectrum understanding of construction—from soil to skyline. After several years in renovation and interiors, he advanced into large-scale infrastructure and building projects, earning a Field Engineer role focused on substructure, geotechnical, and foundation engineering.
During this phase, he contributed to complex projects ranging from $10 million lump-sum works to major infrastructure initiatives, including soil improvement and ground stabilization at Westridge (Trans Mountain). These projects demanded precision, accountability, and coordination at the highest level. The experience gained during one of Canada's longest geotechnical and foundation programs proved irreplaceable.
Building on this foundation, Ani transitioned into superstructure construction, where he was hired as a Project Coordinator and later promoted to Assistant Project Manager. In these roles, he worked across the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction and planning through commissioning, occupancy, handover, and post-occupancy support.
Proven Leadership on Landmark Projects
Ani has been directly involved in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects, including: a $2M+ greenhouse and presentation centre; a $90M+ 18-storey rental tower with four levels of underground parking; a 39-storey high-rise with four underground parkades; and preconstruction leadership on a $330M+ three-tower development.
This breadth of experience means Aboveground doesn't just understand construction—we understand process, risk, coordination, cost control, quality assurance, and long-term performance. Every project, regardless of size, benefits from systems and discipline refined on some of the most complex builds in the country.
